Sunshine on a rainy day

For those of you that have never been to GoApe, its an experience that you should try. Swinging about from ropes and bridges in the tree tops does give you a bit of a buzz. As you come down zip wires the knack is to land on your feet, but as you can see from the video, I managed to scoop up and bring home enough bark chippings to suppress garden weeds for a year, 3 days later I'm still finding chippings everywhere!

Gorilla & Meg the Monkey
I only had one minor incident where when standing on metal rings, suspended by ropes, one of the metal rings ended up round my thigh. To this day I've no idea how I managed that, and as I tried to extricate myself whilst trying to balance on one leg in mid air it caused great amusement to all the young monkeys following me.

I got the certificate to say I've done it, which is framed on the living room wall!

Hillsborough sunshine on a rainy day!
I don't get to Hillsborough to watch Wednesday as often as I would like, but when I go its always an occasion. I have a little routine I follow, starting with a trip to the Gardeners Rest. The weather was beautiful, I sat in the beer garden overlooking the river, with a Spring Mild and Champions Ale, this was my last home match of the season, what could possibly go wrong today?

I got to my seat in the stadium and as we kicked off we played some fantastic football, 2- 0 up after 8 minutes, this was going to be easy, double figures today. I should have known better, as the players started mentally preparing for their summer break, beach towels flip flops, sun cream, they forgot they had to play for another 82 minutes. As the clouds gathered over Hillsborough the football deteriorated and Charlton managed a 3-2 win, with all three goals gifted by Wednesday mistakes. Was it me, did I cause the bad luck? I'm going to have to examine my pre match routine.

I'm very excited about the CAMRA AGM this coming weekend, train tickets all booked and bags being packed. We are staying at the North Riding Brew Pub the only brew pub in the town. I've added links to Twitter on the side of the blog so you can see the action as it unfolds, or why not follow me on Twitter and be first to get the gossip!
