The Real Alhambra

Despite letting the FA know that we have received our retro '66 England shirts, it looks like Roy Hodgson has decided not to include me and Bob in his England World Cup squad. This is a bit of a blow as it was our last opportunity to get to the finals in Brazil, but it does mean that we can now make our final preparations for our alternative European World Cup Tour - or Le Grand Tour (I'm almost bilingual)

Over the last couple of days I have been booking the stadium tours at Bayern Munich, Inter & AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid. This has been more of a struggle than it should have been, if ever you want to waste a bit of time have a go at booking an arena tour at the Allianz Arena, it will drive you to the edge of despair! After a couple of emails and a phone call to Nikolas - yes I'm fluent in German as well (not really his English was perfect) all was sorted.

The Champions League Final is between Real and Athletico Madrid, we haven't bought tickets to go to Atletico's Vicente Calderon Stadium, so if they win it might be a mad dash across town to have a look in their trophy room!.

Of course there is a cultural side to the tour so we have booked tickets for the Alhambra Palace in Granada, - not to be confused with the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford and as we are in Andalusia we are going to a Flemenco show in Seville, this is a non participation show, but who knows after a few drinks.....!

Check out the map on the Euro Tour tab and click on the destination points on the map to find out what else we are up to.

Off to Sheffield today to see John Reilly in concert, I've not seen John since he left Cole Brothers which must be around 1983/84 to start his musical career. Although I've seen some of his music on you tube and I've downloaded a couple of tracks, I've never seen him perform live, so I'm really looking forward to tonight.
