Milano was interestng and I left thinking that I would like to come back at some point and explore the city a bit further.
The hotel had a car park where you leave the car on a lift and then it disappears and its autoparked in a 'box' somewhere underground. We didn't realise this so when we arrived at reception they asked us for our passports which of course are in the van. So they have to retrieve the van - 15 mins later with passports in hand and the van safely back in another box we got to our room. It then dawned on us that all our bags are still in the van! They were very good with us when we plucked up the courage to get the van out for a second time!
The San Siro stadium is very imposing and an impressive stadium. Both Inter and AC Milan play here, so we got the chance to see both dressing rooms and a good look round the stadium. We couldn't get on the pitch though as they were preparing for a concert with Harry and his 1D mates.
That was Italy done, our 9th country in just under two weeks, we've driven approx 2000 miles. We arrived on the French Riviera yesterday, the hotel is a fantasic building but we are lowering the average age by a good 20 years (well I am, Bobs more within the age profile!). It reminds us of the movie 'Best Marigold Hotel'. We are eating breakfast on the terrace in glorious sunshine in shorts and t-shirts, and there's a bloke just walked past in a scarf! It must be a fashion statement!
Off to Frejus today via Monaco. Italian drivers made Bobs blood boil, 'italians are all style and no f*****g manners' I think was the statement. Let's hope today's drive is more chilled!
England's 2nd game tonight, come on Roys Boys!
