How Your Garden Shed Can Earn You a Fortune!

After yesterdays trauma the day started with a wonderful breakfast to set me up for the day. I felt so much better after a good night's sleep and ready to face the walk to just south of Little Compton, a total of 13 miles.

The day was much cooler and fresher than Saturday, with a nice breeze, but I was told by Clare my B&B host to expect rain at some point during the day.

The path for a long way followed the Oxfordshire Warwickshire border with some beautiful views down into both counties. The walking was much better than yesterday and I made good time. The rain did come but mainly short showers.

A trick of the camera or is that
Cottage wall way out of line?
In fact I'd made such good progress that I decided I'd stop stop for a pint in Long Compton at the Red Lion Inn,  a nice little pub but heaving with diners for Sunday Lunch, there were no bar chairs so I tried to sit outside but the rain was heavy so on returning to the pub, I found myself a nice comfy little bench just outside the toilets. It was the only place I could sit, so I counted em in and counted em out. I lost one chap, as far as I know he's still in there!

I didn't anticipate the climb out of Long Compton, it was a long steep slog where a couple of times I thought that maybe it wasn't a great idea to stop for a pint, but steady and slow wins the day, and it wasn't long before my destination for the evening came into view.

The Elder Cabin
I was targeting a pub just south of Little Compton, called the Greedy Goose, who have a camp site with a selection of wooden cabins. I'd selected an Elder cabin, a bijou little space with a bed and table and chairs. Perfect for what I needed. The pub does excellent food and a good selection of locally brewed real ales. The perfect spot. In fact I'm thinking of putting up a couple of sheds in the garden with a bed in and letting them out, its a nice little earner! I think I might have to work on Mrs Riley with that one! After a few beers I am getting worried about the number of trips I might have to make to the toilet block in the middle of the night. I should have packed an empty Lenor bottle!

Tomorrow is a long day as I target getting to Hampnett, but then some extra mileage to Northleach where I hope to get a bus to Cheltenham, and then a walk to my airbnb. I'm sat in the Greedy Goose just looking at my ordanance survey map which suggests I'm walking 18 miles.......... mmmmm thats an early start then!
